Rare McKeown Classic Homes Custom-Built Home
2412 Pepper Tree Ct, Lisle, IL 60532
4 (+1 bsmt) Bedroom | 2.1 Bathroom | $710,000
Set on a quiet cul-de-sac within sought-after Green Trails, this original-owner McKeown Classic residence offers 3,539 square feet of finished living space and reflects over three decades of meticulous care. Built in 1994 by one of the neighborhood’s most respected custom builders, the home showcases enduring craftsmanship, generous proportions, and a layout designed for both everyday comfort and meaningful gatherings.
An elegant entry opens to a dramatic two-story living and dining space filled with southern light, while hardwood floors extend throughout the main level. The full eat-in kitchen flows naturally into the family room with a gas fireplace, and a wall of rear windows draws the eye to the backyard and newly constructed deck (2024).
Upstairs, all four bedrooms are thoughtfully positioned on one level, including a vaulted primary suite with sitting area and spacious en-suite bath. A fully finished lookout basement adds flexibility with a media and game space + custom bar, and separate office or easy fifth bedroom.
Why This Home?
-
Green Trails is one of my favorite western suburbs communities for many reasons, but what truly sets it apart is how intentionally it was planned around movement and connection.
More than 26 miles of walking and biking paths weave through 17 parks and 9 lakes, linking cul-de-sacs, green space & gathering areas.
In many ways, the closest local comparison would be the neighborhoods situated along the Prairie Path, but in Green Trails that same sense of connectivity exists entirely within the neighborhood itself. You’re not navigating traffic or crossing commercial corridors; you’re simply moving through your own community.
Modest annual HOA dues support the maintenance of these common areas and preserve the landscape and trail system that define the neighborhood’s character.
Beyond recreation, the location also functions exceptionally well. I-88 and I-355 are minutes away, as are both the Lisle and Naperville Metra stations.
Downtown Naperville and downtown Lisle are easily accessible, and the recent opening of Heinen’s nearby adds to daily convenience.

Only a small handful of homes within Green Trails were constructed by McKeown Classic Homes, a well-regarded custom builder whose work is recognized throughout the western suburbs for structural integrity, proportion, and long-term livability.
Their homes are not designed around repetition or volume; they are carefully planned and executed with an emphasis on durability and thoughtful spatial design.
Part of what distinguishes the firm is its deliberate approach to scale. McKeown is known for taking on a limited number of projects at a given time, allowing for close oversight and hands-on involvement throughout their building process. When evaluating a home, understanding that level of discipline in its original construction provides meaningful context, particularly for buyers who value performance and longevity over time.

This home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac within Green Trails, positioned in Lisle while benefiting from zoning to Naperville School District 203, a nationally-recognized and award-winning school district.
This distinction is meaningful.
School boundaries can often influence long-term demand and buyer confidence, particularly in established suburban markets.

Beyond schools, Green Trails has demonstrated steady performance over time. The neighborhood’s cohesive planning, mature landscaping, and consistent architectural standards contribute to value stability.
Cul-de-sac locations within established communities often carry additional appeal due to reduced through-traffic and a more private setting. From both a lifestyle and long-term ownership perspective, the positioning here is well-considered.

This residence has remained with the same family since it was custom-built in 1994. From a practical standpoint, long-term ownership provides buyers a clearer maintenance history and (if you’re lucky) a more consistent, detailed approach to care. Systems tend to be addressed proactively rather than deferred, and improvements are made with longevity in mind rather than immediate resale.
Over the past three decades, this home has benefited from that kind of steady stewardship. Mechanical updates have been completed responsibly, the structure preserved, and the layout maintained without unnecessary alteration. (See Home Features Sheet)

“What we’ve always loved most about this home is how it feels throughout the day. The front southern exposure brings in so much natural light, and the main living and dining space has always felt bright and calming.
It’s where we spent more than 30 years of holidays, celebrations, and everyday moments with our family, and it’s still the place everyone naturally gathers.”
“We’ve loved how easy it is to step outside and connect to the Green Trails path system just behind the home.
Daily walks and time outdoors have always been part of our routine. With our children grown, we made the thoughtful decision to downsize, even though leaving this home is bittersweet. The light, the layout, amazing neighbors, and the connection to the trails are what made living here so special for us.”
